So I had the date with the turkey baster the day before thanksgiving..I think I will have a spiced hot apple cider and spiced rum...
::Punches "You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille" (don't know the real name of the song) on the juke box...just because I think it is a good bar song...
ETA: oh and bar question of the night: Name something besides DH and your family that you are truly thankful for....
Re: It's 5pm here...the virtual bar is open.
I will go first...after a sip from my cider and rum.....
ok..I am thankful that God gave me the strength to accept my life as it was after my first DH's death..this allowed me to have an open mind and heart when I met DH..It allowed my life to continue even though I wanted to die..I am thankful for that..
I will have a Captain Morgan and Coke Zero ( which I am also drinking at the moment)!
I am thankful that my DH will be able to go in next Thursday for an injection in his S1 joint, so that his pain will get better. It usually takes weeks for an appointment but I was very PERSUASIVE!
"Four hungry children and a crop in the field"....
Wine of course. I never vary, do I?
Let's see here. I am truly thankful for many things. I always think thank goodness for the strides that medicine has made in dealing with IF. There are so many options, so much hope (and help) that can be given to couples who 50 years ago wouldn't have had any opportunity to have a family.
That often crossed my mind when I read stories about success. And it makes me happy.
I'd like a nice cold Corona with a lime... ahhhh... nice long sip!
Besides being thankful for meeting my wonderful husband on match.com, I am also thankful that we both have good jobs that are unhurt from the recession. I am thankful that I have the gift of educating the minds of seventh graders and that they give so much back to me everyday- more than they know or realize! Finally, I too have to echo Cathy that I am thankful for the medical treatments and testing they have out there now. Without it.... well we all know where we'd be... at zero and not as hopeful as we are now.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Let's see I will have a bourbon slush...feeling a little adventureous this evening.
I am truly thankful for just finding out this week one of my good friends is pregnant. They have been struggling to get pregnant for 7 years and what they thought was a tubal pregnancy where she lost an ovary and tube several weeks ago, ended up being a viable pregnancy...and not only is she pregnant she is going to have twins! Could not be happier for her and her husband! Gives me a real sense of happiness and hope and that things really do work out in mysterious and wonderful ways!
I'll have a absolut mandarin and 7.
I am thankful for my dogs. This may sound crazy to non-dog lovers but I can't explain what my dogs do for me. They are my constant companions, sticking by my side all the time.
I think I'll take a raspberry margarita (like they used to make at Chi-Chi's)... nope, make that a pitcher! LOL
I am thankful that my sister is doing OK since her fiance's death last month. I was really afraid she would want to "follow" him, but she has shown that she is stronger than that. She has good & bad days, but overall, she is still hopeful about life.
I'll request one of my old favorite bar songs.... Montigo Bay. They used to play it for us in college at my favorite bar Tapps (that is now a sub shop
)
yur song is playing..Montigo Bay it is..can you hear it..
(sorry for my absence from the bartender postion we were out to dinner..yep shyn zips again but no beer for me..IUI today)...
I am glad you all served yourself
Any other thankful +35 I know you are out there!
I hear it... YAY. Mmmm Zips! I had a "smart ones"... maybe when I lose 20 lbs we'll celebrate at Zips LOL
I'm a little late to the party... but it's only 7:30 here in CA. I'd like a vodka tonic w/ lime please (I'd be forever grateful if you made it a double shot
); I'm gearing up for a day the in-laws.... I love my in-laws, but they are are not getting along, so it may make for an interesting T-day.
What I'm thankful for: My job. I was unemployed over the summer, and was not having any luck on the job hunt. I got a call two days before school started asking if I would like to teach 7th grade History. I am so thankful for that call, and that my principal thought of me. Now we should be able to afford our IF treatments.
Happy Thanksgiving girls! If the jukebox is still open, I'd love to hear Sweet Caroline... it always make me smile.
Babsie...you got it a v and t (double v) and Sweet Caroline...
good luck tommorrow!
In the mood for a spicy bloody mary.....and in the mood for old Counting Crows (it just makes me happy)
Thankful for many things...my pug who has been my child for 10 years, many friends who actually sympathize with my fertility woes/ever raging hormones, a job that I enjoy, WINE....and of course family.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
::slaps a $100 on the bar and yells "next round on me"::
I am truly grateful for hot running water. I know, sounds a bit ridiculous, but I just showered for the first time in 36 hours (at least) and boy did it feel good!
