menopur ampules vs. vials

DH is freaking out that the saline solution that we got this time is in ampules instead of vials...are they that difficult to use? how  do thier tops crack? also can the glass shatter and get into the lidquid. does anyone have how-to video about ampules

I wonder if YouTube does. I'm a nurse and when I use ampules i take a piece of gauze(or paper towel) and cover the top with that and snap it quick and hard. I don't think glass should get in there but if it doesn't look like a clean break I never used them. I wonder if the pharmacy you used would send you some vials instead. Once you get the hang of it, it really isn't bad.

I wish you the best of luck. We used ampules because we ordered from the UK and that is the "european" packaging. They are a pain in the ass. I don't know why we have such trouble with them. The RE, his nurse and even my mom crack them w/out any trouble, but we always have extra breakage. Luckily there are more ampules than necessary because somedays we used two because of glass in the solution. I wish I had some tips for you but everything we were told didn't really work for us. Just be careful, quick, and......that's about all I got. Sorry not to be more helpful or positive.

thanks for the reply. no i cannot order the vials instead of the ampules.and the local pharmacies wont ship me just the solution bottles.unless i buy a 0.9% solution from some place else
