Big u/s results, and T & P needed!

Hi ladies,

We had our big u/s today, and the good news is that we found out we are having two BOYS! Team blue, yay! Both babies were very active, and in general looked great.

The less-than-great news is that Baby B is quite a bit smaller than Baby A?about a week smaller. Baby B also has a tiny bit of fluid around his heart. Baby A has some calcium deposits in his liver. These signs gave the doctor concern about a possible infection, or early TTTS (presenting in a weird way). The fluid levels are within the normal ranges, but Baby B has significantly less than Baby A.

We did an amnio this morning to hopefully rule out/determine the cause for the size discrepancy, and find any infection that may be present. We never planned on having an amnio because of the risks, so this was a very difficult desicion to make. All in all, it was a very emotionally draining morning.

I'm feeling OK now, just a tiny bit crampy, but if anyone has gone through a similar experience I would love to hear from you! Also, your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated! I'm hoping this infection or whatever will resolve itself, but I honestly don't even know what to hope for specifically, aside from two healthy babies.

    Congrats on your boys, and I'll be sending you all the good vibes I have that the issues you are having resolve themselves quickly. 

    After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

    Thoughts and prayers are coming your way.  I hope your discomfort from the amnio goes away quickly and that all is well with your babies.  And congrats on two boys :):)

    My thoughts and  prayers are with you.  You may want to page Babbs over on SAIF.  I'm not 100% sure what the discordance was b/t her girls but I know there was some.  She's super sweet and super helpful.
