How many days after HCG can I take a hpt?

Hi there everyone

I am new to this.  My husband and I have been ttc for 15 months now.  I had my first IUI with Follistim, HCG, and now progestrone supp.  HCG shot was on 11/13 and IUI was on 11/15.  My beta is supposed to be on Thanksgiving but they are closed :(.  I don't know how much longer I can wait.  If I take a hpt now, will it give me a false positive from HCG???  Please help

  • It's probably out but it may be too early to get a +. I would wait 2 more days.

  • For most people, the trigger is out of the system in 7-10 days.  However, if your IUI was 11/15, it can take 7-10 days for implantation to occur... if you test today, although the trigger is probably out of your system, it's probably too early for measurable levels of hCG if the IUI was successful.  Try to hold out until Thursday at the earliest, or even Friday.  GL!

  • The nurse told me that it would take 15 days to be out of my system.  I didn't believe it, so I tested yesterday, 9 days after the shot, and it was gone.  Yesterday was only 5dp2dt, so I knew a positive wouldn't be a real positive, it would only indicate HCG.  I wanted to be sure it was gone!
  • It varies depending on your metabolism. I once still had it in my system 13 days after trigger. I thought it was a real positive, and was devastated when it wasn't. If you can, wait.
