Semen Collection

Just curious, how do you husbands prefer to get a semen collection -- cup or condom?

We haven't used the condom but are thinking about using it tomorrow...I'm just worried about the logisitics (tying it off etc)

DH prefers the cup...says it seems more "medical" and he feels less skeeved about it.

We always used a cup. My RE never gave us the option of a condom, either way I think my DH would prefer the cup. Good luck!

Dh uses a cup.  The condom thing kinda grosses me out.  Don't know why - but it does.

DH used the special condom when we did his SA because he thought it would make the quality better when we were having sex to collect the sample versus him ... well, you know.  The problem with the condom is that it was so super tight on him (and I'm sure this is to make sure nothing is going to leak out) that he was really uncomfortable and collecting via having sex wasn't doing him any extra favors.

Both of his collections for our IUIs have been in a cup.   He's actually done really well with it, and most of the factors seem comparable to the SA where we used the condom.

DH uses a cup - I agree with pp that the condom kinda grosses me out for some reason.

He's always used a cup for his multiple SAs.

We always did the cup - for both the SA's and the IVF ER samples.

DH used a cup both times.  We were never offered the condom route.
