So, I went to Cornell on Friday for a second opinion with Dr. Spandorfer. I was terribly worried that he was going to tell me that I was a poor responder and there was nothing he could do for me. Well, I was happily surprised!
He went through the incomplete records that my current RE gave me (no blood work, cycle charts for cycles 3-5 and embryologist reports for cycles 1 and 2). He thinks I might have been triggered too late and that I probably had more eggs that he could have gotten. He also said he would adjust my meds and would do co-culture.
He then did an ultra sounds and said my ovaries look great and that he was surprised that I got as few as 6 eggs last cycle because he saw lots of great folicles.
I asked him if there was any reason that I would not get pregnant and he said 'just the opposite. I think you have a great chance!' I was so happy I practically skipped home.
So, now I have to schedule lots of tests and I will be back on the IVF train in Februrary. I feel good about taking a couple of months off of all the drugs. Now I can really go forward with my nutrition and exercise plan. My goal is to lose 20 pounds before I start everything.
Big smiles all around!
