My husband and I just began TTC and we have thought of a few names and mistakenly spilled them to family. They hate them. My mother had the audacity to tell me that she can't imagine having a granddaughter by the name of Elodie Taylor or a grandson by the name of Keegan Baylor. Please tell me we aren't completely off our rockers. Yay or nay to both?
Re: Family opinions on names
Elodie was one of our top contenders! I love it and would definitely consider it if we have a second daughter. I'm not a huge fan of Keegan only because it reminds me of "kegals", but that's just me. Go with whatever you like. This is why we are keeping our LO's name a secret until she's born. Everyone always wants to give their two cents.

I'm with you. No more telling names for me. We love the names we picked and that's all that counts.
I love your babies name! It flows very well.
i agree.
you are not off your rocker. those aren't names i'd choose for my own child but that doesn't matter... they are names YOU love and that's what counts!
i'll offer up a phrase i used on both my brother and my mother in law within the past month:
"your uterus, your decision. my uterus, MY decision!"
it's not copyrighted... feel free to use at will when the moment calls for it!
I don't like Elodie, Keegan or Baylor at all but you shouldn't tell anyone your name if you don't want their opinions.
We made that mistake with our family and I couldn't name our DD something my mother despises once I knew she hated it. If I hadn't told her and just told everyone the name once she's born I'd have never known nor cared. And most people will just accept the name once the baby's born and already named and not say much about it if they don't like it. (They'll just talk about it behind your back, perhaps...)
