Bump Measurements

So at my last doctor's visit, the doctor mentioned that my "bump" measurement was measuring ahead.  Rather than the 25 weeks I was at, she was measureing 29 weeks.  This seems like alot to me.  She didnt seem concerned and said it was a good thing.   I was just wondering, anyone else?!?!

My last appt was yesterday and she said mine was looking right on schedule for 26 weeks and in my head I was like hmmm wait a minute I'm only 25 weeks. I didn't say anything, maybe I should have but I thought it was only a week ahead so shouldn't be too much of a deal.

Bump measurement isnt an exact science.  It doesnt take into account your size.  Your baby is going to correlate with the size of the parents so if youre super tall youre bump may be larger because you'll have a bigger baby than whoever the bump measurement model would have.

like pp said, its not an exact science, plus you may have just had a growth spurt. think about when you first popped and went from not a very big bump to a much bigger bump then kind of slowed down in growth--plus due dates arent exact either depending on when you ovulate they are just an estimation--I personally would never want my dr. to change my due date AHEAD and then end up being wrong and having a baby be induced b/c i was "over due" when in actuality I was less far along than I thought I was

Yeah they measured me a week or two ahead, but I am just going by the ultrasound info. I think it is a little more accurate. And I know with the miscarriage right before this one, there is no way to be so far ahead.

Mine always measured ahead for DD & she came out full-term at only 5lbs 9oz...I think a lot of times it has to do with how they are lying & it's not an exact science.
