When exactly can the NT scan be done?

I know it's "around" 12 weeks but what is the actual window?  I will be out of town from 11 weeks to 12 weeks 4 days for the Holidays and am afraid we will miss the window.

I know they scan for soft markers and draw blood.  However, my doc doesn't do them.  I think they recommend you have it between 11-13wks.

I would do it at exactly 12 weeks if you can. Sometimes of you do it too early, by just a couple days they can't get a good measurement. I went at 11 weeks and 3 days and it was too hard to measure the baby. Then I went a few days later and the NP was able to do it better.

oh whoops, I read that wrong. Well, you still have until 13 weeks so you will be ok.

I will say it is better to do it earlier if you plan on doing CVS though based on the results because if you wait until the end you may miss the window for it.

I'm worried, too. Mine is scheduled for 11w2d, so if my dates are off by even a day or two, it might be too early. ::sigh::

I went at 11 weeks and 2 days. The baby was measuring a little small, so they just rescheduled another appointment for me 2 weeks later.

13 weeks 6 days is the last possible time frame you can get the NT.  With DD I had mine at 13w 2 d and that is exactly how far along I will be next week when I have mine because DH is away this week. I can't wait to compare heartrates!

They are not checking for any abnormality's until after 18 weeks for me. Not really sure why however I get an u/s at every app. I guess every Dr. does it differently.
