Maternity Pants Vent

Yes, it's sad to admit that I already bought a pair of mat pants but my bloat is so severe that it is getting painful to wear my normal dress pants to work everyday. So I just wanted at least one pair of black dress pants. Well, I went to Target and they hardly has any maternity, they had a bunch of regular pants mixed in with the maternity pants so every time I thought I found a pair, they were regular pants.

Eventually I found one pair on plain black with the full belly sleeve or whatever its called in my size. Well, sh*t! They're just too big and the belly sleeve part of it is crumpling down below my belly and its just overall irritating!! I'm glad I have a looser shirt on today. This awkward in between stage really sucks!

  • Yes! I hate this inbetween stage, it sucks. Clothes just do not fit right and it makes me feel like a slob.

  • Well, they say the Bella band works when Maternity pants are still to big but your regular pants are too small. Try a pair that fit below the belly. Try Motherhood.com or OldNavy. Target doesn't have a very good selection.
  • I know how you feel. I've just purchase a few big sweaters and shirts to cover up my unbutton pants. I may go to Target this weekend and get the BeBand and hopefull that will help for awhile. I'm also 5'10 so finding pants is going to be hard for me.
  • Have you tried a Bella Band?  I can't wear my normal clothes right now either...my bloat is really bad.  I just wear my pants unbuttoned and wear the band over them.  Also, I have heard it works wonders when you first start wearing maternity pants.  You can wear it over the maternity pants when they are too big and it will hold them up.  I'm wearing mine right now with my normal jeans and they are so much more comfortable.  I'm trying to hold off on buying maternity clothes for a while.

  • I was the same way- every time I wore my regular pants I would be extremely uncomfortable. I bought a pair of maternity jeans from a consignment shop and I absolutely love them! I tried just yesterday to wear a pair of my regular jeans and my belly cramped the whole time I had them buttoned. I could only keep them unbuttoned when I was sitting. I'm sticking with maternity pants everyday from now on. I just feel better. Smile Boss is out today so I snuck in with my yoga pants.
  • I'm all about the dresses these days...with really loose panty hose!
  • I caved and bought a Beband last night as well after looking through the crap-a@@ selection. I was so irritated by the time I left there. I might try the beband tomorrow with my jeans b/c i have a feeling none of them will fit comfortably.

I know, my DH suggested that too last night when I was mad about not finding pants. Don't they make maternity panty hose?

  • I had some pants one size up from where i am now from when I had DD i wasn't needing maternity but not back to my original size and now I'm using them until l fit into maternity they are much more comfy. Give it a try just buy a cheap pair to get you through!
  • The be band isn't working for me. I the flattest butt in the world so it does its job holding the front of me together but my pants keep fallign down in the back. I did the rubberband trick today and it is o.k. but I am going to get new clothes after work! Hopefully that will help my mood.
  • I got a great and cheap pair of maternity jeans from Burlington Coat Factory/Baby Depot. I don't know if they have them in your area or not, but if so they're worth checking out. You can't beat $14.99 for jeans in a stylish wash and cut that actually fit well!

They do have it in my area actually and right near my work. I have been meaning to get over there. Thanks for all the suggestions. We'll see how tomorrow goes with jeans....
