Sitting at A I Dupont Childrens hosptial.....(vent)

I'm here taking care of my nephew (well watching more than anything). He is 5 and has a seizure disorder and he is having constant seizure activity. He looks so sad, they put in a feeding tube tonight. He is sleeping but I can't get any rest because there is an infant in our room as well that is screaming because they put in a feeding tube for him as well. I'm trying to stay happy and supportive, but it is hard with all these sick kids around. I was here all day yesterday and went home last night. I got here around 6 tonight and I'm going to be here until at least Friday night with him. Hopefully we will get discharged so it won't be as stressful. Who knows maybe I will get some rest and feel better in the morning.

I understand it can be frustrating, and I hope that your nephew is discharged soon, but those kids screaming and crying don't want to be there either.  I'm sure they are more stressed out then you are.

Aww, poor babies.  AI DuPont is a GREAT hospital.  We had to take DS there when he had RSV last December.  It was horrible.

Good luck to your nephew... I hope he is home in no time.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this.  I'm sure his parents are very grateful to have someone like you to help and support them.  Your nephew is lucky to have so many people who love him!
