2nd Trimester

less movement lately. should i worry?

ive been feeling movent for about 10 weeks now but the last 3 weeks she seems to be moving less and less. i went to the dr and heard the heart beat and he said everything seems fine. but still of course i worry. could it just be that im getting used to her movements so im noticing it less? i know that babies will move less often some days but for weeks at a time? i have felt her everyday just a little less than it was before. should i be worried?

Re: less movement lately. should i worry?

  • Maybe she has less room now?

  • Right around24 weeks my LO started moving less. My ob says if I am really worried to drink a big glass of juice and go lay on my left side and count his kicks.
  • i read in one of my pregnancy books that with less room you should feel more movement, not less. and i thought kick counts idnt start until 28 weeks bc its not "regular" enough to be done?

  • Wow, I was just about to post this same question when I found your post. I'm just under 22 weeks, and have been feeling movement for at least 4 or 5 weeks. Not a whole lot, but a few times a day, whether kicks or flutters, etc. Then, late last week I noticed that the movements felt much less frequent than before. I called the nurse-line yesterday, but she didn't seem to think it was a problem. I'm still wondering if I should worry, although I do occasionally feel some swooshing or mild movement, so am trying to reassure myself that all is still well.

  • No answer, but I know how you feel. My little one only moved every other day once or twice last week. Doctor wasn't worried though. But I am .
