Putting hair products in kids' hair

Maybe I am old-fashioned, but I just don't get why you would put gel or other products in a baby boy's hair to make it stand up and have that "tousled" look.  I equate it to putting make-up on a baby/toddler girl (which I also find distasteful).  Why can't babies just be babies?  I think they're cute the way they are.

  • I personally would never take Maddie out without a little mascara and lip gloss.

Kidding! I don't get it either. That's why the baby/kid pageants just baffle me- they don't even look like the adorable little kids they are! Although there is a big difference between using a little gel and those pageants, lol.

  • I agree.  I don't get it either.  But I suppose one could look at it as similar to putting hair bows or hats on babies -- just another way to mix up how they look.  But I still wouldn't use hair products in DD's hair.  If she'd only let me put (and keep) bows in her hair, you'd see them more often on her!
