I'm trying to make my menu for Thanksgiving (the in-laws are coming) and I feel like I'm forgetting something...and I feel like we're basically eating a lot of starches, but oh well, thats what Thanksgiving is for, right?
So, whats on your menu for thanksgiving?
Here's what I have so far:
Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Green Beans, Homemade Mac & Cheese, Sweet Potato Casserole, Rolls and Apple Pie
Re: Thanksgiving Menu...whats on yours?
This was last year's menu and think I'm pretty much doing the same thing.
How about cranberry sauce?
What about a salad of some sort.. 7 layer salad? Our menu looks about the same.. we also have a ham (there are 13 of us) . We also do a derby pie (pecan and chocolate).
Stuffing!
Maple-brined turkey
MIL's stuffing (with a few extra ingredients thrown in)
Mashed potatoes
Sweet potato casserole
Grandma's green beans
Homemade creamed corn
Roasted acorn squash with rosemary
Deviled eggs
Stewed apples
Homemade dinner rolls
I'm letting our company handle appetizers and desert.
You are missing stuffing!!
Here's our menu:
Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Homemade mac and cheese, Carrots, Brocoli and cheese, Corn, Green Bean Casserole, Rolls
Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie, Pumpkin Crisp, Vanilla Ice Cream
super easy cranberry sauce (sweet & tasty)
one bag fresh cranberries
one cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice
combine liquids & sugar, bring to boil, add cranberries and reduce heat, cook until cranberries all pop - serve chilled
Awesome! Thanks!
Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Rudabega (sp), green bean caserole, homemade cranberry sauce, gravy, apple and pumpkin pie, rolls.
I think that is it!
Let's see if I can remember what we came up with...
Appetizers...artichoke dip with bread bowl, cheese/crackers, fruit/veggie tray, chips/salsa, pigs in a blanket...
Main meal...Turkey, ham, sweet potato casserole, butter beans, spinach casserole, chateau potatoes, dressing, stuffing/dressing, 7 layer salad, cranberry sauce
Dessert...pecan pie, banana pudding, and probably a sweet potato or pumpkin pie.
