Would you drive an hour for a kids party?

A kid you aren't related to.  The kids' birthday is in January and it sucks to have to find something to do inside.  There are inside play places about an hour away.  If invited, would you drive about an hour to another city for a kids party?  I'm thinking it's a silly idea.

  • I definitely wouldn't.
  • We just did on Saturday - a good friend of ours lives about an hour away so we always have to drive an hour away for her son's birthday parties. I would do it for any of my/DS's good friends.

  • Not unless it was some kind of all day thing and the whole family was invited.

But for a 2 hour kids party nope.

  • Yes, we do it regularly....lots of my friends live an hour away in different directions around the city, so I usually pack up my boys and make the trek.  They do it for me, and it's always good to see my friends.

  • I do a lot. I live 30 mins outside of St Louis and all my friends live in St Louis and the area. So, unless the place is right in downtown, it's at least 45 mins to an hour to get anywhere. Smile Heck, I drive that far for playdates. LOL

  • I would, and have.

It can take an hour to get across Annapolis some days.

  • If it was a friend of our family's kid, sure.

If it was a daycare kid, probably not.

  • It depends on who the kid is.  I have a few very good friends that live about an hour or so away from us and we drive to go to their parties.  They come to ours too.  If I wasn't really close to someone I wouldn't go though.
  • Yes, and I have.  I think a lot depends on what the kids are going to be doing.  I'm used to driving though...so it's no big deal.  We have stores (Walmart, Target, Meijer, etc) within 15-20 minutes but it is no big deal for me to drive an hour or so to get to a big mall (Great Lakes Crossing or Birch Run).
