Yes, I love it! I have great associations of 2 people that I know named Clayton. DH wouldn't go for it because the nn Clay reminds him of Clay Aiken. That thought had seriously never even crossed my mind. Oh well!
I think of an old man (recently passed away) that I knew with that name. He was a real Southern gentleman, so that's the association the name has for me.

Yes! My dear friend named her son Clayton "Clay" Charles and his an adorable boy with a strong, classic name that suits him perfectly. My former boss was also named Clayton and he was one of my favorite bosses. Good name!
I love it!!!!!!!!! It reminds me of two things a cowboy and the movie and book Spencers Mountion. I want that for my son someday and I would call him Clay, but DH doesn't, oh well.

Clayton is a little rednecky IMO ... just nms ... and the only Clay that I ever met was at a trailer park when we went to visit my uncle and his gf.

Ick, that is what it makes me think of. Definitely NMS and it doesn't go with Cooper very well.
