How many pedis did you interview?

I have one pre-natal app set up with a ped office and Im considering 2 more...is interviewing 3 docs overkill?

Re: How many pedis did you interview?

  • Honestly, just one.  She came highly recommended by my OB who I very much trust.  We were going to interview one more but didn't feel the need to.

  • 0 and I wish I had. I called two on the phone but neither offered an interview/visit.. so I just went with the one that was closer.. We fired our pedi after Eve's 2 month visit. They were horrible. I know if I had met them/the office staff before hand I would not have chosen them. The Dr's are OLD (like really.. why are they not retired?) and the office staff/nurses are all grumpy and mean.

  • just one. I called two others which were closer to my house, but didn't like the vibe I got on the phone. My mom is the office manager of a medical office, and she works with all the area pedi offices. She highly recommended them.
  • 2. The 3rd we were interested in didn't do interviews, but we already knew she was good because she's my nephews' pedi.

    I don't think 3 is overkill.

  • One...but that is because the office was highly recommended by a co-worker, whose opinion I highly trust.  I do wish, with all of the difficulties that we had, that there was a lactation consultant on staff.  I am not sure that this would have made a difference in our situation, but maybe it would have.

  • We didn't interview any.  We just decided to take Zoey to the office that my parents brought us to since they were always very happy with them and I felt comfortable with them.

  • None. My SIL and a lot of my friends go to our ped and it's like 2 miles from my house. I called and they offered me a tour while I was pg but I thought it was un-necessary. Once you pick a ped, it's not like you're locked in there for life =)

  • 0 and that was a mistake.  We are at the 2nd dr b/c I had so many issues with the first one.
  • We didn't really interview our pedi. I took the recommendations I got from the girls here and a couple from some friends that use the same pedi or were looking at the same pedi. Their website also answered all the questions we had. So far we love them and have had no problems.
