Preemies

Pre E Mommies

Have you still have trouble getting you BP down? I have been on three different med since I have come home from the hospital (10months ago) and it still not at normal. We just increase the one im on now and this morning it was 143/89 What the heck :(

I just would really like to get it back a lil closer to normal. Especially since were trying for #2

Re: Pre E Mommies

  • I had a hard time getting my bp down on medication as well and went through several medications and dosages.  They finally got it down and has been pretty good for a while but if I don't take it it goes right back up.  One of the doctors told me that some women take a year to 6 months to reregulate.  My Dr is going to revisit at 6 months and see if we can at least drop my dosage since it is the highest dose you can take on that medication.  It sucks doesn't it!

  • YES!!!  I am so annoyed by it too!  For me it has only been almost 2 months, but I am still having issues.  I had been going to the doctor once a week for bp checks.  My last visit it was 130/80.  This was good compared to 150's/80's that it had been.  My OB jsut took me off meds to see I it will self regulate.  I sure the heck hope it does b/c I just want to feel normal again.  My OB did say that it can take a while before it goes back to normal.  DANG PRE-E!!!

  • Weirdly, my BP went back down to normal about 2 weeks pp. GL you! I hope yours gets regulated soon!
  • I was only on meds for a few weeks, but it took probably 6 months to really be back to "normal." I hope your body figures it out soon. :(
  • High BP runs in the family so I dont think i'll ever be off but I just wish I found something that would work :(
  • I just had my six week pp check up and my bp finally is under control. So my doctor is taking me off the bp meds. This week, I'm going from two times a day to one time a day and then next week, nothing. I'm sorry you can't seem to get it under control.

  • I came off meds at 2months pp.  I had a Dr.'s appt. last week and it was back up again. :(  so, I am probably going to have to go back on something if it stays up this week.

  • My BP never went back down to where it was pre-pregnancy.  My DD is almost 3 now.  I've been told that I will probably be on BP medication for the rest of my life.  I'm pregnant again, and I've been on my meds since TTC.  I would suggest seeing your OB for a pre-conception appt to make sure you are on a good BP medication for pregnancy.

    I'm on Procardia XL.

  • I was back to normal by my 6-week appt.  Now if only the painful sex would stop, I'd be in good shape! Stick out tongue
  • i did not have any trouble (was off labetolol by 3 weeks post partum) but I am sorry you are having trouble.  :(  how frustrating.
