PSA about bras

When I was pregnant everyone recommended just waiting til the end to get nursing bras.  It makes sense since you don't know what size you'll end up, right?

So, that's what I did.  I bought regular bras in larger sizes throughout the pregnancy (I went from a c/d to a g/h) and waited until after the initial engorgement went down to purchase nursing bras.  I didn't take into account, however, that my boobs would be shrinking back down as I lost the baby weight.

I now have regular bras in a million sizes and I'm currently working my way back down the sizes in nursing bras.  I wish I would've just bought nursing bras when I was pregnant.

Hope this can help some of you!

Re: PSA about bras

  • Thanks so much for sharing. This makes me feel better about buying two nursing bras last week. They were 50% off at Sears, so I figured I'd need them eventually. Sounds like I did the right thing.

PS..We're having a Desmond, too.  Your Dez is super cute!! Smile

Thanks!  You're the first person I've met using the same name!  What's his middle name going to be?

We are thinking Orion (my favorite constellation) but we need to feel it out a little before we commit b/c it's not sure common and we don't want to "scar" him, KWIM?

  • Your little guys is adorable!!

  • I have not noticed my boobs change in size yet.  And I'm hoping they don't anytime soon.  My the underwire of my favorite bra just broke on Saturday, so I need to buy one to replace it.  Maybe I should just by a nursing one now.

BTW, your son is ADORABLE.  SmileSmile

  • That is so funny!  We're having an Orion, and Desmond was our second choice!  Freaky...
  • I agree!!  Not to mention after nursing for a year my boobs are now smaller than before I got pregnant the first time.Hmm  My favorite nursing bras were the kind that criss-crossed in front.

  • My boobs were bigger than my dd's head!  And it took a while for them to get smaller - I'm not sure what I'm going to do this time.  Bras are so darn expensive I'd hate to buy ones I can't wear.
  • SPORTS BRAS... they are cheap, stretchy and move with you.  When you are at home and nursing you can just pull it up out of the way.  I only ever bought nursing bras for when I was going to be nursing out in public, they aren't as easy to deal with, wash or as usefull when you are engorged or when you are getting back to the old you!

Way freaky..MusicTwilight Zone theme Music LOL. Seriously though, I'm so glad to hear of another little boy named Orion. That makes me feel more confident with our middle name choice.

Thanks!  You're lucky, I think mine started getting bigger about a week after my bfp.

I hate trying to nurse in sports bras.  If it's tight enough to be giving me support I find it uncomfortable to pull it up.  I use nursing tanks if I'm just lounging around the house.
