Need advice asap

I had posted yesterday about some swelling (feet and ankles) and headaches that I had been experiencing. The swelling isn't excessive and the headache is gone but now that I am laying in bed my right arm and leg are somewhat tingly and feels a bit like the circulation is cut off. They are not swollen or anything, they just feel this way. I am concerned and need some advice. How long should I wait for this to go away? Should I not wait at all? What would you do? Thanks!

  • I think you need to call your Doc right now and explain the symptoms.  I'm not trying to scare you, I don't have any info for you, but it sounds like something to get a handle on right away in case it could be something serious.  Good Luck!
  • If you're ever uncertain about a symptom, call your OB/MW. Most places have an on-call nurse that will be more than willing to help you out! That's what you're paying them for, after all :-)

  • I would call to be on the safe side.

Also, could you go to a Walgreens and measure your blood pressure?

  • I'm glad you posted this.  I have had issues with my arms going numb when I sleep at night and I asked my OB about it at the 15-week check-up.  He said that is quite common since everything is swollen (even if you can't see the swelling, it is happening) and it will likely get worse.  He said it is harmless, just annoying!  But I do suggest mentioning it at your next visit, just so they know and can monitor you.

  • That hasn't happened to me, but my sister had trouble with circulation in her legs when she was pregnant and everything was fine. My limbs do fall asleep very easily since getting pregnant though. Whenever I fall asleep with my hands on my tummy I wake up with pins and needles which I think is weird since I am not laying on them! Pregnancy does so many weird things to our bodies!  However, if it is really bothering you call the dr./mw/nurse on call and see what they say. If I am worried I always just call them, they're used to it!
  • I thought you were gonna go in and get your BP checked at you docs office?
  • I called my Ob today and they didn't seemed concerned enough to see me. Now I am experiencing this and am really wishing that I had just made them see me.

  • Is your blood pressure typically high? If you start becoming dizzy or short of breath I'd def. call your dr.

  • My swelling and night carpal tunnel has gotten a lot better since I've increased my water intake.

  • Well, I called. Not exactly sure who I even spoke too, but they were of no help. They said to just go ahead and call my Ob and make an appointment in the next week. So , I guess I will call first thing in the morning and try to get it as soon as I can.

  • I don't know about the arms or the headaches, but my OB said that for my leg going tingly that baby was sitting on nerves!
