Why aren't blue-dye tests trustable?

Just wondering? I saw several answers saying they don't trust blue dye tests.... not sure what the difference would be, so educate me please!

Went to Target and bought a digital FRER. Will test tomorrow morning, maybe even the day after. I'm thinking that if I am "KU" - I must have O'ed later than the femilia.com website told me. Especially since my cycles haven't exactly been like clockwork.

Re: Why aren't blue-dye tests trustable?

  • Blue dye tests are just crappy. Known for evap lines, etc.

Also, using an "Ovulation Calendar" online is totally inaccurate unless you consistenty O on day 14 of your cycle.

If you are interested in Charting, check out www.Fertilityfriend.com  or read Taking Charge of Your Fertility to learn about charting and reading your body's fertile signs.

Taking Charge of Your Fertility  is a great resource to learn about your body even if you don't want to chart.  I charted for 6 months and then took a break and just watched my fertile signs like cervical mucous and got pregnant on our 9th cycle.

  • Blue dye tests are notorious for false positives.

And no one's cycles are like "clockwork," no matter what they might claim, so don't worry Smile
