My 3 yo nephew has every car, truck, and train in the toystore. So I picked this set out for him today.
I bring it home and both my husband and mother say its too feminine. And the more I think about it, the more I think my nephews parents will see it the same way. In my eyes, there are no such thing as BOY toys and GIRL toys and I plan to buy unisexual toys (for lack of a better word) for my child and hope that he gets more than balls and cars and things like that.
Grr. I guess I'm just pissed because I braved a very crowded TRU on a Saturday morning and now I have to go back and get him something else.
Re: Would your 3 yo BOY play with this toy??
He would. But my son also has a M&D kitchen and a baby doll.
He plays with his trucks/trains/cars the most, but he really likes playing with his kitchen stuff too.
My son absolutely would! I just bought this set for my DD's birthday, but it is 2 weeks away so we haven't used it yet. Is it because it is kitchen stuff, or because the decorating factor that makes it seem girly? My son has played with the M&D pizza and cookie sets at daycare and loves them....so maybe one of those (esp the pizza) may be more boyish in their minds? My son loves to help me make/decorate cookies/cupcakes and to prepare dinner, as well as loves his kitchen play food.
Any M&D gift, IMO, is a great gift!

No. We have the M&D pizza and bday cake and he doesn't play with them at all!
Now if it were an Easy Bake Oven or something to make real food....he'd be all over that. lol
