Like when people ask a pregnant woman if they ready to pop, or pop out the baby. Babies do not "pop" out. They are pushed out.
Popping is something that is quick, pushing takes time, sometimes hours. Popping takes little effort on the part of the popper, pushing takes an untold amount of strength.
Even C-sections can't be referred to as popping. A scalpel is involved, along with an 8 week recovery. Popping would never takes 8 weeks to recover from.
Just my thought of the evening,
Re: Term that annoys me: pop/popping
Quit ruining my b!tch session with real things! !
When people say that, I always imagine the pregnant belly just exploding, like when you pop a balloon.
I do know plenty of people who had babies without pushing at all (and not c/s).
Not true. DC #2 popped out. I pushed once and was told not to push on the next contraction. I waited through 2 contractions. On the third one, DS "popped" out on his own.
