Buckin

I have another question about the mint cookies in your blog.  It says in the directions to Add flour and baking soda, but you don't have baking soda listed in the ingredients?

I made them anyway and they came out 'salty' even though there is no salt in the ingredients.  Just checking your opinion.  I love chocolate and mint and may give them another try.

Re: Buckin

  • I'm not buck, but that's my recipe.  I think the directions are confusing because the original recipe calls for 2? cups of all purpose flour and ? teaspoon baking soda. Buck altered the recipe a little, so that explains why baking soda was in the directions but not in the ingredient list--and probably why they were salty.  Self rising flour has salt, but the recipe doesn't call for any.

    Here is the original recipe.

ETA: The saltyness could have also come from the butter.  Did you use salted or unsalted?

  • WHOOOOPS!!! Sorry!!!

I try to correct recipes because I prefer using Self Rising Flour versus All Purpose. I must have missed taking that out of the directions though!! Sorry about that!!!

    Thanks CB for jumping in!
