A friend told me to consider not getting a double. Reason being that I can wear the baby and DD can sit in her umbrella stroller when I am out alone with them. However, most times, DH will be with us too so each of us can have one stroller.
DD will still go to school every day when I am on maternity leave and I work full time... so there aren't too many times that I would be with both kids without DH.
Opinions please?
Re: Anyone NOT have a double stroller?
The only reason I want one is because I'm a SAHM and DS and I spend a lot of time taking walks around the neighborhood and to the park. ?I plan to get an inexpensive double jogging stroller just for that purpose.
But for the most part, I hope/plan to wear #2 as much as possible. ?I wore DS a TON until he was about 7 months, he was such a chunker that he was just too heavy at that point. ?So if #2 is lighter, I'm hoping to wear her even longer and continue using our Quinny Zapp for DS when we do errands, mall, etc.?
(read it. you know you want to.)

I didn't get one and now wish that I did (and #2 is only 2 weeks old)! I think it would be so much easier to get out to walk during the day with a double stroller. I too planned on wearing #2 but she hates the carrier right now.
Needless to say, it's on our list to purchase this weekend!
I wasnt going to get one but eventually got one when DS turned 2 months. Wearing DS and pushing a stroller and then juggling other things is not that easy. Maybe cause my little guy is so big. I wanted to wear him but it was killing my back and was not as easy as I thought it would be.
I am glad we bought a used one since we dont use it ALL THE TIME. but it comes in super handy.
I thought about that too, but since winters here are so cold, I didn't want to have to get DD2 out of her carseat everywhere to "put her on". With a double, she stays in her seat covered with a blanket. Also, when there is snow and ice covering the parking lots, I would be afraid that I would fall with her.
Plus, when #2 gets too big to wear, won't you need one then anyway?
I can't imagine not having one. It's such a hassle to wear an older child (over 6-9 months). So much easier to plop them into a double stroller. Also, I can't imagine having to rely on my DH coming along so that each of us can take a stroller.
But, I'm a SAHM and am out every day, so that makes a difference. I also have 3 kids and need the double to keep 2 contained.
