I'm visiting my folks in January and will be having fires there. What screen/guard do you have to keep your LO away from the heat. The fireplace has a glass front door that could burn her quite well if she got her hands on it. Thanks.
we have a screen that goes in front of ours in the living room but he can easily push it down. the only thing that we really enploy is that when we do have a fire going DS is either in the family room ( gate locks him in there) or one of us is in the living room with him to watch him.
We have a gas fireplace that gets incredibly hot when it's turned on and stays warmish when the pilot lot is only on. I never use it around the kids but my DH does and has taught them to stay away from it. You'll even hear my 3 year old son tell my 21 month old DD to stay away. It makes me nervous but DH feels strongly that they need to learn not to touch it all.
Re: If you have a fireplace, safety question.
