I'm jealous of my MIL

She bought a car seat for her car. Fine and dandy was my first thought. In case she ever needs to pick up Colin from daycare on an emergency basis, it's nice for her to have one. BUT. She "offers" to pick him up at LEAST once a week, just for the fun of it. Tomorrow she wants to get him at 2:30 and bring him to our house just to "see him."

Why does this make me jealous? I should be happy that my MIL wants to be so involved, right? I'm jealous because my mom lives 2 hrs away and can't just pick C up for fun. Even though my mom never says she's jealous of that (and it's not like I tell her that MIL picks C up as often as she does), she probably is a little, so I feel jealous vicariously for her.

One thing's for sure, I'm leaving work as soon as I can tomorrow. And I miss out on that communication piece with the teachers when I pick him up in the afternoon when she steps in.

Maybe I'm being irrational.

::sigh, and goes off to pout in the corner::

I get it but, it is very nice of your MIL to want to be so involved.  I would say, as long as it stays to once a week, I'd be OK with it.  GL!
