So as we were on our way to the hospital for the u/s we were discussing labor and that hopefully it will not happen during rush hour (it's a good 25mins from home).
Anyway, we started talking about the water breaking. DH was like "i hope it doesn't happen when we're in bed, that would ruin the sheets, mattress, feather bed thing we have...." From this i got into the details of how a friends water broke while she was walking into the OB's office. She had a dress on and the floor were carpeted... granted not a fun time for her! To top it off she had meconium in her water. DH asked what it was... and i told him. He almost died.
Later on that night he was talking to his mother and was like "Did you know that the baby can poop inside her?!!?!? He was so freaked out... i thought it was pretty funny!
OH, i also mentioned that some woman poo while pushing, lol! He said he may skip the whole birth process all together and just join me when the baby is born. What a wimp!
Re: Conversation with DH yesterday
Yeah, some of the details can get a little icky, but trust me - when you're in the moment, neither one of you care AT ALL.
I didn't have a bm while pushing, but let me tell you, no one would've flinched if I did and the nurses / midwife deal with it very quickly and discreetly.
There's so much other stuff coming out - you wouldn't notice.
SAHM to two sweet girls, both born at home; Baby #3 in 2013!
