is she a doll girl? starting to get into princesses?
dd is a puppy dog, pony, just now princess girl.. she loved the vet kit last year. she's getting into my little pony this year. and I've heard those little plastic princess dolls are great for preschoolers. does she have the kitchen/food or a store set? those are big hits in my house. a tricycle? trampoline with the handle? I would look into this b/c my kids have so much stinkin' energy... but dd wants a dollhouse and we only do one "big" item per kid... ds is getting a tricycle. I'm toning it down. I used to go nuts... but like you said, we have a ton of stuff they don't touch. So we have sorted... put some items away for later... and then have a huge bag to donate.
I'm trying to go with smaller things for DD this year...things she can make or do. There are these "paper dolls" from Melissa and Doug but they are magnetic. Art supplies, craft projects....stuff like that.
I'll do the usual books and also pj's too.
In general, I'm trying to stick to non-plastic, battery operated stuff. More creative and wooden stuff. We just have so much of the standard stuff and it's time to scale that back I think.
right now the only thing this kid keeps asking for is an umbrella lol So we got her a tinkerbell umbrella. She doesnt ever really ask for any particular thing at least not yet lol

princess castle from disney world (can go on disneyworld.com and see it it is a large castle with all the princesses). About the size of a dollhouse for about 80.00.
Anything princess....dvd's, dress up (snow whites outfit got at Sams Club for about 30.00 and Mulan Dress up got at Disney Store), princess books.
Disney DVD Bingo, zhu zhu hamster and all the accessories to it, jewelry (got her a kids bracelet from Silpada), sneakers, customized Disney outfit from Etsy with her name and matching socks and bow, a few board games (went to TRU and they have a ton of fun games that are for 3 year olds) and Ariel Princess Water toy.
I think this list will only help if she loves princesses and disney as my dd's does. But dd's friend hates dress up and is not a girly girl so I know she would not like this list. GL
(Tess will be almost 3 at Christmas) It's tricky because we already have almost everything people have listed--that's the prob w/ having an older sister! I think we are gonna buy another dollhouse (we have the FP 1st dollhouse & a Calico Critters one) & another kitchen (the old one just got tossed this Fall). Oh & I bought a balance bike on sale that i'll give her. And probably that big set of Barbie sized princesses at Target. Otherwise I plan on getting her an engraved water bottle, monogrammed towel & a sleeping bag. She also wants an American Girl (she already has the bitty baby) but I may hold out until her B-day for that.
