Philadelphia Babies

Food Drive/GTG!!

HI Philly Area girls...

My friend  started a tradition last year to combine a good deed with a good time! Food banks are really having a hard time this year and perhaps now is the time when we need to help out most of all...  I think most of us can find something in our pantry or pick up a couple extra of something when we do out thanksgiving shopping... I have copied  her post below...

If you have any questions, you can email my friend at the address below, or email me at robin@radelpro.com

I have also volunteered to be a drop off point, so if you can't make the gtg, let me know and perhaps I can get your donation and take it with me! The gtg will be during the day, M-F because it is based on Preston and Steve's annual food drive, and I know many of you work... but some of us are  taking a 1/2 day to help Philabundance this holiday season, and have some fun with mom's and babies!  Post copied below! Feel free to copy and paste to your local board, or to start your own holiday food drive!

Hi Everyone! Its time for Philly area Bumpers to get together and do some good deeds again!

Last year I planned a GTG around the
Preston and Steve Campout For Hunger food drive.
It was a small turn out but imo successful for a first try. I'm doing the same thing again this year and hoping to make it even better. I am going beyond this board and asking several other Bump boards to join in.

All of the food donations benefit Philabundance. Food banks are empty this year due to the bad economy. Lots of families will go without food this holiday season if we don't help out.

There is a poll on my
blog to help us choose a date that is best for all of us. This is a GTG that welcomes children. If you are not interested in hanging out with kids, I would like to encourage you to organize your own event or you can donate online.

After we drop off our donations we?ll have lunch at Ruby Tuesday?s, which is across from the Metroplex Shopping Center (the location of the food drive). If you can only make it to one or the other, we?d love to see you either way. I would only ask that, at the very least, you bring something small to donate.

You can find a list of
recommended donation items on my blog.
Toys for Tots will also be at this event.

Also, I would like to ask if anyone would be
willing to volunteer to be a drop-off point in your area for those that would like to give but cant make it to the event. Maybe you can simply leave a box on your porch or meet them in a mutually agreeable public place. (please see FAQ on blog).

Well, thanks for reading. I hope to see many of you at the event. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at mommabrown08@gmail.com or via
facebook.
