Prayers/Positive Thoughts Needed

Hi all!

I need to ask for T & P from all of you for my DH's adorable 3-year-old cousin Rebeckah. She is very sick right now. She was born with a condition called HSAN (Hereditary Sensory & Autonomic Neuropathy). It basically takes away sensations. For example, Rebekah does not sweat or feel pain, etc. It is also an autoimmune disorder too. So when she gets sick, she gets very sick.

Right now she is in PICU in Minneapolis on an oscillating ventilator. She is in stable, but critical condition. She has Influenza A, although it could be H1N1.

Yesterday, she was even confirmed into the Catholic Church. Those who are Catholic understand that this is rare to happen at 3, but is a way to prepare Rebekah for Last Rites if needed. Her family (she has 4 siblings) and parents could really use all the prayers and positive thoughts possible right now.

T & P....

Since it sounds like the family is religous... perhaps a prayer circle is something that would be of benefit? I don't know if you believe in that sort of thing.... but, I tend to believe in prayer and associate the fact that I am still alive based on them.

I'm a great believer in prayer. I'm also Catholic and have benefitted greatly from prayer. I've never heard of a prayer circle. How does that work?

I am in tears as I pray for this little one. I pray that God comforts and heals her and her family.

I will keep y'all updated! We are all very scared right now and her parents are numb. I tear up just thinking about it.

When I was 9, I had a 50/50 chance of living... My church (United Methodist) contacted the church's headquarters (not sure of the technical term) and released a request for prayer to all of their churches. I had hundreds - if not thousands of churches praying for me from the West Coast to the East Coast. Many churches will even do them for non- members.... Meaning that you could request prayer from non-Catholic churches...

So, just think of the prayers that could be released for this little girl??? It is sooo powerful. At least I believe that it is.
