DH got laid off today, totally unexpectedly. I'm worried that the stress will hurt the baby but I'm not sure what ways to de-stress are safe/help. Any ideas?
Just remember that there's nothing you can do to fix it at the moment, and the best thing for you to do is take care of your baby. I know it's hard, but just try to put it out of your head and remember that the most important thing right now is that you and baby are healthy, and past that, things will take care of themselves.
Good luck with everything!

First, I'm really sorry. But try to stay positive...will he be able to collect unemployment? Remember to keep things in perspective - it is a job & hopefully he'll be able to get a new one soon. (I hope that doesn't sound bad) When I get stressed about things like this I can't control, I try to use positive self-talk like "I'm healthy, DH is healthy, LO is healthy...this is all that really matters. Together we can get through anything. This will not break us, we are too strong for that. Everything happens for a reason, maybe something better is around the corner. When one door closes another one opens! Etc" Put positive energy out into the universe and to your LO!
Also, DH probably feels horrible - especially with a baby on the way. I know my DH gets really depressed if he feels like he can't provide. Try to be strong for your DH and build up his confidence (he'll need it!).
