DS #2 will be 6 months on the 15th and he's not rolling either way yet. I know some babies do things later, but when should I start to worry? He has no problem being on his belly or his back, he just doesn't want to roll/sees no reason to roll.
I can't remember exactly when DD#1 rolled but I know it was LATE. She rolled once at 4 months and I think I traumatized her by cheering too loudly - LOL.
It was MANY months before she did it again. She was always a 90-100 percentile kid and I thought that might have had something to do with it. It's a lot of weight to yank around. She's 3yo now and totally fine so I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure he'll start rolling soon.
do you happen to have hardwood floors? my dd didn't roll at home, but if we went somewhere with carpet, she would occasionally roll. then at about 7 months, she started rolling at home on the floor. she rolled from her back to tummy before 6 months, but i think it was only after 6 months that she went the other way.
Taken by itself, it's probably nothing. But if there are other missing milestones (no grabbing, hands closed, etc), then it could be a problem. Have you seen the pedi for the 6 month well-baby?
I asked my ped this question b/c ds rolled at like 2 months and at 4 months, dd hadn't even thought about it. She said it's not a real milestone-as in, there are other things that are more important that they are looking out for developmentally at this point.

No we haven't gone to the dr. for his well check yet, so i do plan to ask her then. He's not missing anything else though, he's grabbing, holding his bottle, batting at things, standing on his legs, ect.
My ds didn't really roll either. I remember daycare making a bug deal about it around 5-6 months and me thinking "it's not even a true milestone", like crawling. Ds never really crawled either...but sat up and walked at normal/early times. I would ask your pedi but as you said, if the other things are on time I wouldn't worry too much
