Who goes to Shady Grove? Strunella? Anyone else?
I am researching shared risk with donor eggs. I spoke with a liason at Shady Grove and she said they offer a donor egg program for 29K. Gulp, that is so much money. My clinic in Tampa does the same thing but it costs 40K. I would be willing to travel if there is a cost savings.
What I am looking for is a miracle clinic with a success rate of 100% that is located in a beautiful resort in Costa Rica that costs around 5K, foot massages are included...... Ok, reality just slapped me in the face. Does anyone know of any other clinics that offer shared risk with donor eggs for less than 30K. And what do you Shady Grove girls think?
Re: Shady Grove and other shared risk places
I am a Shady Grove girl considering the Shared Risk with donor eggs. I have a pdf of all of the info/costs etc that I can send you if you want. PM me with your email address if you want.
Prices range wildly depending on what you do. The highest was I think $52K. There are a lot of options even within the shared program.
Hiya-
We did our IVF thru Shady Grove. I think Dominion Fertlity also does a shared risk type of gig. Unfortunately they won't let you do any type of shared risk if your insurance pays even for a little iota of your IVF cycle. Then again, we didn't do donor eggs, we did straight IVF. My friend did donor embryos via Dominion, but I don't remember how much she paid.
We've had our initial consultations with Shady Grove and were pretty impressed. Everyone is very nice and understanding as well as thorough about all the steps in the processes. We're looking at IVF with ICSI which runs about $22K for the shared risk program (not including the meds which depending on your protocol can be $1-5K additional).
We have friends that did the shared risk program with Shady Grove and they got pregnant on the first try!
Make sure you check with Shady Grove (and any other place) about what's included in the shared risk pricing! We thought the meds would be included and were sadly surprised to find out they weren't. Shady Grove just started a shared risk med program too, but I don't have much info since my insurance will cover about 1/2 of the meds (nothing else!) which makes it cheaper. Also, you might want to check (since you're looking at non-local clinics) if they charge additional fees for the frequent monitoring.
We're lucky enough to live in Gaithersburg (where Shady Grove's main office is located). I can't imagine having to travel so far for all this! Anyway, if you decide to go with SG and have any questions about the area, let me know:) You can email me directly at crumb1991@yahoo.com. I'm not always on here every day!
Best of luck!
