TTC After a Loss

Can you ladies please help me? (in re: to yesterday)

Ok, so as many of you read yesterday I had a BFP in the morning and in the afternoon I was spotting and by late afternoon AF was here full force. I know the test was positive (and I keep looking at it and there is a line, I am not crazy)

So I need help with what happened. Was it a cp? Another m/c? a false positive? I just don't get it.

I am so mad right now. I was so excited and thankful that we won't have to do injections and iui. Now it looks like January we will start all that crap. Damn it.

I just don't get it.

Re: Can you ladies please help me? (in re: to yesterday)

  • I'm so sorry you are going through this. It sounds like a chemical pregnancy, which of course is every bit as upsetting and painful as a m/c. I had one in August, and basically we had faint positives for two days and then my period started. Our bloodwork came back negative for a pregnancy, but I still feel that loss and mourn it.

    I'm really sorry hon.

  • Oh no! I was so pulling for you. I'm so sorry.

Did you only use one test? If so, was it a FRER? From what I read, FRER's don't tend to have evaporation lines but the tests with the blue dye do.

    I'm so sorry.

It was an FRER and the line showed up within the testing time (like 3 minutes or something like that)

  • I'm so sorry. I was hoping you'd get darker lines and less cramping.

I don't have experience with this. I would guess you'll have to call your dr. It sounds like a cp though. Not sure?

    ((hugs))

  • Sounds like a cp, but I'm not a dr so couldn't know for sure. :-(

  • Oh no...I am so sorry. It sounds like a cp. I'm not sure how much I like the term, but don't let it diminish the fact that you were pg, even if it was for a short time.

I had a cp with my 2nd m/c on Clomid and my HcG level was 0 by the time AF came. Were you on any fertility treatments?

Again, I'm really sorry you are going through this. Huge hugs for you, girl.

Kelly makes such an important point here. I hate this term because it makes it sound like the pregnancy "doesn't count" or that you shouldn't be sad. We all know how completey untrue those presumptions are, and you are right to feel however you do right now.

When I was on Clomid (both times) they didn't do any monitoring. I wish I knew if my lining was thick enough to support a pregnancy. Did you have any monitoring?

I know this is very disappointing and I'm here for you. Let me know if you need anything. I'm always a PM away.

They didn't do any monitoring. I had asked them about it, but they said that I was Oing and my progesterone test was normal so I was fine. When we start again in January we will have double coverage and not have to pay for anything. I am going to tell them that I want every test and every u/s needed. I want it all covered. I expect to be in their office more than I am in my own house!

I understand completely. I had the same protocol on Clomid. With IUI, they do very thorough testing and monitoring.

This.  This is why I consider my CPs as miscarriages.  The type of m/c it was=CP.  It hurts all the same.

After the spotting stopped, Leslie convinced me to go get them done. I made my way over to the lab and went to the bathroom, and at that point AF was here. I said fvck it and went home. I was just to upset. I called my RE this morning and left a message as to why I didn't get them done. I am guessing they will call me back tomorrow (they are in the office for half days on Saturdays and Sundays) or Monday.

  • My doctor told me yesterday that a cp is like a m/c and i told her it is a m/c... cause i had hcg in my blood which means a positive bfp.

Anyhow my re does do the full monitor with b/w & u/s but for some reason when i m/c in sept they said i would be put on progestrone and i wasnt and now i'm pissed cause i had my 2nd m/c or cp whatever u wanna call it yesterday and still bleeding heavy and all my doc said was its a cp.
