I know it's too early, but I don't know if I can wait

I know Halloween was just last weekend, but I am getting so excited to put up my Christmas decorations.  I always try to wait until the Friday after Thanksgiving, but we are going to be on vacation for that whole week.  DH is out of town for the weekend.  I wonder what he'd do if he came home to a Christmas tree!?!  Wink

  • i think that is too cute. i can never get into the christmas spirit... by the time we actually get around to decorating and what not, christmas is almost over and it flies by so fast. so i say go for it. goodness knows the department stores have already started!

  • I say go for it!!!  I was actually thinking of putting up mine sometime in the next couple weeks.

  • I am the same way.  I have the house decorated for Thanksgiving right now, but there's just nothing like Christmas decorating!!  DH and I put up our lights yesterday but we won't turn them on until after Thanksgiving.  :)
  • DH would kill me he is getting his store ready for Christmas he does not want that in the house yet, it will make him think of work
  • IMO it is morally wrong to put up x-mas decorations until the after Thanksgiving. *getting off soapbox*

  • I had these little sculptures of Santa and Mrs Claus that I kept up all year in an homage to my mom who always forgets to take something down. But then the cat broke BOTH of them. I loooove decorating for Christmas, and to stop myself from doing it too early I just tell myself that if i put it up before Thanksgiving it'll all just become part of the background and will lose some of its... specialness.

  • Yea I would like to put my Christmas decorations up so that they can be up longer... but I also like my Thanksgiving decorations... so I'm always torn between having to take the Thanksgiving decor down to put the Christmas decor up.

    I love the holiday season!

I understand it's too early, but I don't really know how morals come into play with it...

If she's going with morals, then put an "x" infront of mas is actually wrong....

  • There are Christmas movies on today, so I say it's not too early to decorate.  We are putting ours up and watching Christmas vacation!  :)

  • I was looking at my Christmas decorations today and thinking "I can't wait to put up my tree!!"  But I will wait until after Thanksgiving b/c DH despises Christmas decorations.
