I keep hoping and praying that I'm going to go in for an appointment and doc's going to announce I'm due tommorrow. You can bet as soon as I hit 37 weeks, I'm going to be having tons and tons of sex and lifting every heavy thing I can and running a daily marathon to get this kid out. I've hit that point where you can't round your back anymore because your belly is so huge and bulging and there's just not any room in your ribs and I think I might actually die of back pain or suffocation.
Re: I don't want a preemie BUT
DH is out of town until Monday, so I keep telling LO that he has to stay put until dad gets home, and then it's fair game....
Totally beyond ready to have an outside baby!!
Your baby is still developing at 37 weeks. While you may be uncomfortable it is best to let your baby bake as long as they can.
37 weeks is considered term.
Actually 'full term' ranges from 37 - 42 weeks. Your due date is an estimate. If labor starts naturally the hospital will do nothing to stop it after 37 weeks, and since a protein released from the lungs of a developing fetus once they have reached maturity is what leads to the initiation of labor in a healthy pregnancy, if labor starts, it means baby's cooked and the timer's going off.
So like I said before, will be praying baby is ready at 37 weeks, because lord knows I am!
I hate to admit this, but I am feeling this way too. After this weekend passes, I will be at 37 weeks. If my LO would like to make an appearance by then...I am all for it.
I don't think it's anything to be ashamed of.
I feel exactly the same way. I don't want an early arrival, but at 37 weeks if the baby is done cooking, I'd be thrilled to see his little face.
This!
This! I understand what she's saying. I'm hoping we have a totally healthy, ready to be born baby at 37 weeks too. I know my doctor won't let me go bast 38-38 1/2 weeks because of my fluid levels, but I hope s/he is ready around 37 weeks. I have a big risk of delivering anytime within the next 4 weeks, but I'd like to make it to 37.
Baby's lungs are still developing at 37 weeks. They may have issues with temp. regulation.
Just because a baby is full term, it's not ready to come out. That is why PREGNANCY is 40 WEEKS.
I really wanted my baby out - I had a miserable pregnancy. But, I am so thankful that I waited until 39 weeks until they induced me.
I'm uncomfortable as hell right now at almost 37 weeks, but my first son was a late-term preemie. No complaining here about staying pregnant. I'll take pelvic pain over the NICU any day of the week.
That being said, I don't think anyone should rip the OP. Those of us who are nearing term are all ready to be done. It's natural. You just get to a point where you want your bod back to yourself. I just have a completely different perspective after having had a 35 weeker who spent 11 days in the NICU. I wouldn't expect (or want) for any of the ladies on here who haven't experienced that to understand. It's okay.
