Pain when laying on right side

I know it's better to lay on your left side, but I usually roll over to my right side when I'm sleeping. Last night every time I rolled over on my right side, I ended up waking myself up because I was really uncomfortable and it hurt. Does anyone else notice anything like this? I'm totally fine on my left side. Not sure if this is related but I noticed this morning that my stomach looks soooo much lower today, it looks like I dropped a ton overnight.

Re: Pain when laying on right side

  • I think it has to do with being farther along.  As the weeks have progressed I have become extremely uncomfortable no matter which way I lay.  Sleeping/laying down is my least favorite time of the day.

  • Sometimes it hurts just to roll over. Sad
  • I feel VERY uncomfortable laying on my right side too. I get nauseated and almost out of breath if I do. The left side is the only way I am still "comfortable". It hurts my shoulder though to be on one side all the time :(

  • Yes it started last week for me.

I was sleeping on my back and right sides until doc told me left side only from this point on last week.

The pain and nausea was intense.

She said that the baby grew and is dropping and is bigger so the discomfort comes from him pressing on more nerves and muscles.  The nausea is your core shifting and all the fluids are kind of moshy now.

Hang in there. I'm experiencing it now every night so I have to remind myself to be gentle, slow and easy when shifting.  Not always easy when you're 75% asleep

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I seriously didn't get any sleep, for some reason I kept rolling over on my right side, but the  pain would wake me up. Maybe tonight I'll put my body pillow behind me, maybe that will stop me from rolling over.
