3rd Trimester

Anterior Placenta and movement..

Hey girls. I have an anterior placenta and this past week, I've really only felt her kicking really low and sometimes I have to really concentrate to feel her kick. I can go hours (and maybe all day) without really feeling much but last week I could really feel her poke and kick my sides. Anyone else have any idea what it could be or should I call my Dr?

Re: Anterior Placenta and movement..

  • I have an anterior placenta as well and didn't feel consistent movement until 30+ weeks, my Dr said that was totally normal.

  • as long as you're not experiencing decreased movement, i wouldn't worry. i have anterior placenta and in the past week i've just started feeling his kicks regularly.
  • ^^Well, for like 3 weeks I could feel her kicks and jabs a lot stronger than I am now. I dont know if its decreased of she's just in hiding more but I feel slight movement throughout the day inside. Almost like near my groin.
  • I have an anterior placenta too and don't feel her a whole lot from the inside, but I do notice that if put my hand on my belly I can feel her more. It sounds odd, but true. I can feel her squirming all over on my palm, and feel next to nothing inside.
  • I have an anterior placenta as well. There are days when I barely feel any movement and days when I feel a decent amount.  My doctor said not to worry but of course I worry anyway.  As long as I feel her at some point during the day I take that as a good sign! I too have to concentrate and lie down to really feel her kick.

You've made me feel alot better! (Well, you all have!). For some reason if I try to make her move and I cant feel her I start freaking out but then I remember that I did feel her kick what felt my lower part earlier this morning so it's not like I havent felt anything you know? I guess I was just so use to feeling her a lot more before that its hard not to worry.
