3D U/S @ 30 weeks (?)

Im going next saturday to get a 3d us I just was wondering if it's early? I just want to be able to make out her face clearly, i know she wont have alot of fat but still... anyone? TIA!

I think @ 30 weeks you should get a good shot. I live next to a Phillips U/S training center and they always want to take their 'models' between 24 & 28 weeks.

The one in my siggy is 26 weeks, and the one in the link is 29 weeks. I think you can see her face pretty well. (Sorry I don't remember how to pip therwise I would). I think 30 weeks is in the ideal time period.

I had one at 28w, one at 31w, and one at 33w. They all turned out ok. Except for the cord being in his face. Have fun!!

That's when my hospital prefers to do them. They said 30-32 weeks, but they really prefer closer to 30 weeks.

At our appointment it was like 29 weeks and 5 days... we would have gotten a great picture except neither baby was cooperating and both had arms and hands in front of their faces. I'm sure 30 weeks is great though, if you can get a face shot! The ones in my signature are from 25 weeks.

I had mine done at 30 weeks and they turned out perfect. The lab tech said she prefers doing them at that time because they are much clearer than if you do them earlier.

I had one done at 28 weeks and one done at 30 weeks.

They were both clear....the biggest thing is to drink LOTS of water in the weeks leading up to them. That's what makes them more or less clear, how much amniotic fluid you have. I preferred the 32 week ones because her face was more chunky, but she was chubby at 28 weeks too. 30 weeks is perfect!

My biggest suggestion is not to expect too much. I think that's why a pretty large percentage of people are disappointed with the results.
