Hi, just posted this over on SAL but wanted to check here as well to see what your dr. advised about kick counts. TIA!
I noticed that LO has been fairly quiet today. It's been an
hour 50 min w/out movement. My OB never discussed kick counts with me,
and the OB w/ my DD never mentioned them at all. I had an Orangina and
decent size brownie at the end of lunch. Should I be sticking to the 2
hr rule? I'm starting to wonder what's going on. Or is baby H just
taking a long siesta? Of course this comes up on a Friday afternoon. .
. . I've been keeping tabs on things this week since I came down with a
bug after getting the H1N1 vaccine, but I was finally feeling a little
better today. Should I just hang tight and see if LO gets moving once I
get home from work?
Re: XP: Help w/ kick counts at 28w6d, please!
My doc said to count 10 kicks in 2 hours, not that it had to move every 2 hours. Go home and try laying on your left side for a while. I would call your dr if you don't get to the 10 movements in any 2 hour period today.
My OB doesn't have us do kick counts until the last month. My general rule has been if I haven't felt anything within 24 hours then I'd call. My baby has been known to have a lazy day, especially when I was less far along. Then again, if you are genuinely concerned you should always be able to give your doctor a call.
My doctor just said I should get 10 kicks in an hour sometime during the day. He said if I get them first thing in the morning, I'm good for the rest of the day. So, at least by what my doctor said, it wouldn't matter if he doesn't move for awhile (or moves very little) as long as I get 10 in an hour at some point during the day. He said if I can never get 10 kicks in an hour, I need to call.
Try poking your belly or lying on your left side, maybe. If you really are worried about it, go ahead and call the doctor and see what he says.
You probably have nothing to worry about, but if it makes you feel better call. That is what whey are there for. They may just tell you to head home and lay down and try it there and see if you notice. Hope you feel little one really soon.
My little one has become less and less active then he was 3 -4 weeks ago. They are growing, and sleeping.
My doctor advised me 6 kicks in an hour an all was good. His patterns has def. changed in the last few weeks. n the morning he use to be soooo active, but now he's more of a nightmover.
I try not to freak out unless i feel NO movement all day.
I shoot photography for a living and I've noticed a HUGE difference in movement the day after a shoot, vs. a day where I am home by myself.
I have a shoot tomorrow- so Sunday he will sleep all day. He's tuckered out
