Our "at home" babymoon starts today!

DH and I wanted to take a weekend to ourselves before the baby, but decided money is too tight and we have too many upcoming expenses to go on a trip.  So instead we arranged for my parents to take DD for the weekend (no easy feat--my parents are completely intimidated at the thought of keeping her overnight, much less all weekend), and we're "vacationing" in our own home.  So when DD gets up from her nap this afternoon, we are FREE for 48 entire hours!

And the weather is sunny and in the 70's this weekend?!  We are planning to get a lot of our Christmas shopping done, since I am soon going to be too uncomfortable for long shopping excursions.  I'm so excited -- leisurely meals out, quiet coffee time in the a.m., time to be just the two of us for a bit.  This is only our second time without DD overnight in her whole life.

Anyone else take or planning to take a babymoon?

    That sounds so nice!  We were hoping to take one, but I am not sure we will now.  Between Thanksgiving and Christmas most of our weekends are taken up.  I would love to even get away for a night to a B&B or something! Hopefully, we can make something happen.  Enjoy your weekend!

    soooooo jealous! We have way too much to do to think about taking a weekend off :(  DH got a new client at work (he works in finance) and has to get ready for them to go "live" in a few weeks, so he's been working craaazy hours just as I am home all day (sucks for me!), so I can get some of the stuff done but he refuses to let me help with the rest (painting trim in the nursery, putting together furniture, rearranging the house to make way for baby, etc), SO he has about an hour at home every night to eat dinner and go to bed and the weekends are packed up with baby stuff.  Enjoy your time with DH!!!!! :)

    That is awesome! I hope you enjoy yourselves. DH is layed off so we can't afford to take a trip but we have been spending alot of alone time together since LO is our first.

    have a great babymoon! my FI and i did the same thing! i actually loved our babymoon at home... it was a lot easier on me. and i know we really needed a mini vacation, especially before this LO arrives! hope your is wonderful!

    I would have loved to have any sort of babymoon, but unfortunately we've just got too much going on for that to be possible right now. I'm very jealous!

    we decided last minute that we should go somewhere this weekend. Not too far (hoping LO doesn't join us this weekend!) but we wanted to celebrate our 1 yr. annv. and its a couple months overdue. So we are leaving after work today and coming home Sunday. Have fun and enjoy the time with just you two!

    We are doing the same thing this weekend, we wont have as long, but will have most of the weekend to do WHATEVER we want!!!
