After your LO eats....

How do you position your LO? I either keep him on my shoulder or in his lounger upright.  I try to avoid any movement.    I keep him like this for at least 45 minutes in any attempt help with reflux.  Just curious to hear how you position your LO.

  • I would swaddle her and put her up on a pillow next to me on the couch.  She would usually fall right back to sleep :)
  • The nurses in the NICU suggested that we lay them to the right side bc that is the side where their stomachs empty and there is less chance of reflux.

  • We held him upright for about 30 minutes but honestly it didn't seem to matter that much because his reflux would act up for about 2 hours after he ate :(

Definitely avoid unnecessary jostling and laying DS on his tummy was the worst!!

  • We tried to keep them a little upright so we used either the bouncers, boppies, or swings.  Just depended on the day.

  • These days he lays how he wants, but back when I still had some control, I usually would hold him up over my shoulder, or in our By-Your-Side bouncer fully inclined. When I put him to bed, I usually put him elevated and on his left side trying to get his digestion to go as quick as possible.
