TTC After a Loss

Back from DR

so I had my first dr appt after my mc today. My doc sees not reason why I shouldn't get back on the TTC wagon. She's sending me for blood work to scale how out of wack my PCOS has made me. Until that's done I'm not on anything but she believes I will be prescribed metformin. But she wants to wait until I a) get my results bad and b) discuss it with my mom, my mom is a nurse and is friends with my OB. Other than that she doesn't want to do much in the way of meds at least until March when I go back.

I think if I don't have a BFP by then she's talking about Clomid with the metformin. Ha she's also insisting I lose at least 10lbs on a high protein low carb diet by then.

Re: Back from DR

  • I'm glad you can get right back onto the TTC wagon...  But how do you feel about your OB talking about you with your mom?  While my mom's not a nurse, I feel uneasy talking to my mom about TTC myself... much less my OB discussing it with her.

Good luck with everything!  Especially losing 10 lbs.  I need to lose about 25.

  • I think I'm immune to being uneasy about my mom knowing this stuff. My mom has PCOS to and I was a result of 5 years of trying for a baby. So I know she knows what if feels like. Also she's been in every drs appt I've ever had sticking her nose at doctors with her opinions. She's also worked in the baby making business so she actually has the same info any dr will give me.

I'm supposed to lose 100lbs to be 'healthy' :(  but since my dr is nice she's giving me slow and steady motives

  • Eating low-carb should help the PCOS too. The hormonies are the hormonies, and carbs drive insulin and get your body all outta whack. ColindaP the amateur nutrition expert gives that advice two thumbs up!
