I've never used a positioner for either of my kids.  I would say if your baby is wiggling out of it, it's not really serving any purpose.

Nope, K doesn't use hers anymore.
She moves all over the bed at night.... Its hillarious.

I quit using when DD starting squirming all around at night in her crib (around 4 months) She never really liked the thing!
