Injectible FSH?

Has anyone done the injectibles but not had IVF or IUI? My RE said we can "up the ante" and try that along with the femara if we want to. DH is very adament about not having twins and doesn't want to do anything that may cause twins. I am getting to the point where I would definitely consider taking the injectible. Does anyone have twins as a result of it or know anyone who ended up with twins? It says on the internet that there is only a 25% chance of getting twins, and even less of getting more than two babies. I guess I am just thinking that I am having a hard enough time getting pregnant with one baby that it wouldn't hurt to try something that could lead to two babies.

Re: Injectible FSH?

  • I might not worry as much about the multiples if you are just doing timed intercourse.

I too was super worried about this when we switched to them but then I realized my issues would require the big guns and now 4 ivfs later...I would def get aggressive. GL.

  • I did injectibles with IUI#1, and I have to say I really sweated during the 2ww about whether it would be twins. ?I had been told there was a 20% chance of twins, and since we did u/s I knew I had 2 big follicles. Also, during my 2ww there was a front page story on the Sunday NY Times about IF treatments & twins/multiples & their many health complications, and the stories of very premature babies etc.. added to my worrying. ?So I began to think that if we did IUI#2, I'd ask the RE about doing IUI without injectibles, just to eliminate the chance of twins ?(but I didn't get to ask RE about that because we luckily got the BFP with one little bean). ? ?So I'm saying the injectibles worked for me, but I question if I would do it again. ?I guess I'd want to know my FSH levels to really make the decision, which I only have been told are "good" (I don't know the number). ?I think it's worth discussing all the options with your RE, definitely.?

  • Have you been monitored on femara?  How many follies have you had?  What about doing an IUI with femara?

I did not try injectibles, but I responded really well to clomid.  Even with four follicles and B2BIUIs, I still didn't get KU.  So, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
