3rd Trimester

I thought I would make it

I thought I would be able to keep working up to my due date but the doctor told me to stay home.  He said I shouldn't be pushing stretchers anymore after he saw me walk.  He thinks I may have moderate SPD so I am officially off work till she gets here.  I feel bad about it because we are so short staffed in my unit at the hospital.  Plus I am worried about the PTO and all of that good stuff lasting if she doesn't come next week.  Ugh.  I really feel like I am a failure for not being able to keep working.

  • I say you are no failure if you take off now... your are getting close!

I worked up until the day I went into labor w/ DD... I'm not sure it's going to happen this time.  Already being a mommy and pregnant is exhausting!

  • you're only a week away from your edd. i wouldn't beat yourself up about it. my job isn't as physically demanding, nor do i have any complications, and i'm planning on quitting at 37 weeks.

  • RELAX girl! You owe it to yourself and your baby! I'm impressed you've made it to 38.5 weeks doin all that work. Kick your heels up :)

  • I agree, you shouldn't feel guilty at all! Relax some before your LO gets here!
  • Thank you for the encouragement.  I will probably be happy about it tomorrow when I don't have to get up at 5:00am lol.

  • As someone who was on bedrest until today? Trust me, you are NOT a failure. The fact that you kept working this long is something you should celebrate.

Don't beat yourself up about it. It'll all work out.
