3rd Trimester

So sick of hearing, "Why are you still here?"

I am high risk and have been the entire pregnancy. My son was born at 34 weeks and with this pregnancy I have had three epsiodes of PTL where I was hospitalized overnight. I am taking Procardia and my last day of it is tomorrow. I am at work today because I am # 1 feeling fine, and #2 what the hell am I going to do, sit in my house until the baby comes! I am so sick of people at work asking me, "Why are you still here? Shouldn't you be home if you could deliver soon." Um lets see should I lock myself in doors until the baby decides it is ready. What if that is another 3 or 4 weeks! UGH I could scream!

  • it does get annoying... also having someone tell you look uncomfortable when you feel perfectly fine

  • I get that too. I waitress, and a lot of girls are done at this point. I've even had customers ask! My response at this point is, "Are you offering to pay my mortgage so I can go home?"

I know! We have FMLA here and I won't get paid for the 12 weeks I take. I would rather spend those 12 weeks with my baby then home alone.

  • I know! I seriously think people expect you to be locked up in your house until the baby comes. Im been contemplating wearing ear plugs so I dont have to hear the stupid comments when I go out.
Mom to 2 healthy boys, and a baby girl in Heaven. Heard her heartbeat on 7/18, heartbeat was gone on 7/20. Miss you forever.

Seriously! At my job, we're allowed to take off as much (unpaid) time as we need, but I'd rather wait and take 8 weeks off when the baby is born. And I know I'll get bored staying home at this point. DH told me to "take up knitting" if I'm bored, but he wants me done working. LOL! (I really do want to learn how to knit though!)

  • This morning I heard "Oh, dang! I was hoping you wouldn't be in today cause you had the baby!"

Yeah, you and me both. Thanks for the reminder that I'm still here.

  • I am sick of it, too.  I finally told someone that I will go on maternity leave when they can see the amniotic fluid leaking out of me.  They stopped asking after that.
