 When I was on 3rd tri moms from other boards with come and ask if anyone had any questions. Now I'm bored and was wondering if anyone has any questions about the hospital, new baby, etc.

Do you get to wear your own pjs in the hospital at all??  I bought a nice maternity/bfeeding set but just wondering if I will be able to use it.

 Also what kind of pads would you recommend.  It's been forever since I had to buy the darn things!

Lastly, how long before you can use a tampon after birth?

What did you wear while in the hospital? I packed nursing tanks and pj pants. I also packed socks and a nursing sleep bra. What else will I want/need?

From what I understand with a vaginal birth you can wear you own clothes the whole time even during the delivery if you like but I've only had c-sections so I can only answer for that. I hate hospital gowns and only wore one during the actual c-section. Within an hour after the birth I asked to change and a nurse helped me change into my own nursing nightgown. I didn't sit on it so it didn't get messy. The rest of the hospital stay I wore all my own clothes. I changed pads every 2-3 hours so aside from a few spots of blood on my panties, my clothes stayed perfectly clean.

I wore the big diaper like hospital pads for the first 24hours and then I used my pads and underwear. I used stayfree overnights.

I was told not to use a tampon for my PP bleeding but that I could use them when I got my first period which still hasn't come.

I wore pj pants and DH's t-shirts. I didn't buy any nursing tanks until I left the hospital and knew bf would work out. I was really hot and sweating the whole time even though I kept the room really cold. I never wanted socks. Bring slippers or something else to wear on your feet that is really big. My crocs were really tight the day I left the hospital because my feet were so swollen. I didn't have any swelling when I was pregnant.

I was really swollen right after the birth so the band on my bra's felt too tight in the size that fit the last week of my pregnancy. Three months later all of the bra's that were once to tight are too big in the band. My cup size hasn't changed since third tri but I know it does for a lot of women.
