keflex/cephalexin question

I called the Ob on call and stated that i thought i had a uti....low back pain...frequency, fowl smell, some pain afterwards (not everytime) so he called back and said all signs point to yes.  this all started to happen after my pelvic exam on wed.....a month or 2 ago i was prescribed keflex for a uti but it cleared up before i even got the prescription...when he called back he said keflex was fine for me to take and instead of the antibitioc saying twice a day he wants 3 times a day and if i feel better on monday to get some more.....anyone else been prescribed this? i get so paranoid because of my m/c in march i know the med does go into the placenta and fetus and it doesnt do much harm but i do have complete placenta previa and i am just a little scared.. thanks!!!

Cephalexin is Category B, so it's completely safe for a pregnant woman to take. No harm at all. It won't cause a m/c, and it won't hurt anything with your placenta previa.
